i think i have short term memory loss

i forget things people tell me all the time. for example if its a small little detail in someones life, for the life of me i can't remember it or i associate different things within that memory. for example if someone tells me they go to the store on saturdays only, for some reason my brain remembers it as sunday and then i get myself in trouble lol. am i r*tarded?
