Anyone have a good guess as to when PS6 / Nintendo Switch 2 will be released?

Wanna get back into gaming as I have 2 young children >3.

Was a great part of my youth and I wanna play games with my kids. Likely will get both a PS and a Switch, but don't want to be buying them now only to learn that a year out new consoles are released. Prolly should wait.

Switch 2 I think is already announced for next year.

Ps6 not for several years. But they’re supposed to announce some ps5 pro version that’s probably coming out this Christmas idk

Interesting, so maybe hold on the switch until next year but cop a ps5 pro, or just a ps5 considering prices may come down at such point

I've heard Switch next year too. I'll likely buy it if the price is right. Love the Mario franchise. Mario Kart. Mario Golf. Mario Tennis. Mario Party. Rarely have time to game though. Bought an Xbox on boxing day and have played it maybe like 10x. I work too many hours and when I do have free time typically gaming would be 2nd or 3rd in line as opposed to my 1st choice to spend time.

It was recently announced that the PS5 is already half way through its lifecycle, which is crazy because it feels like it JUST came out. The Switch 2, is probably not until next year. There were rumors of it being released this year, but the new pokemon game announced for Spring of 2025 is a strong hint that it will probably be a launch title for the new Switch.

I have a 5 year old that I've been playing smash brothers and some other games on my old n64. Looking forward to picking up the new switch when it comes out. Been awhile sine I've had a console

Switch early-mid 2025, pushed from this year.

Ps6 awhile longer, although the rumored PS5 pro is on it's way and pretty fuking powerful.

I'm done with consoles. This PS5 generation has nothing new to offer. Plus they are getting away from letting you actually own any of the games you buy. Even if you buy the disc, the games require internet connections, where they lock you out from playing without downloading their patches. They use it to censor things. Change the game. This would be fine if you still had a choice in the matter, but you don't so the game you bought may not be the game you get to keep. If you have to do all that might as well just be a PC gamer where you can install mods and stuff.
