Meanwhile Asians are playing the MOBAs while EEuropeans are still loyal to the same old goat RTS and TBS like Age of Empire and HOMM3 or some FPS like Counter Strike.

Shocking that 3rd Worlders who play the same game for decades on their poverty PCs end up being pretty good at those games.

The countries from the Eastern Block have been more stable than many US states for the past 10-15 years


It is cultural. Americans just treat gaming as fast-food. They just absolutely suck in the competitive scene

There's a CS major going on right now and the most represented countries are Russia, Ukraine, and Brazil. They all grew up playing CS because that's all they could afford to play.

The apex legends community is USA dominated

The top teams from other countries have relocated to NA for better competition and more viewership

Just depends on the game I guess. Overall esports are treated wayyyyy more respectable in Asia than in USA.

Being a pro player in apex is like having a slightly above average job in the USA. You have to be a major Lan winner and signed to a huge org for real money to come in. Obviously that all is supplemented by streaming.

Most of the pro players have the same end game type goals, to be a nickmercs or timthetatman or shroud, basically get so big in streaming you don't have to compete or do anything you don't enjoy doing. Nickmercs spent 2 years playing pro apex (he sucked) but he was able to bankroll a pro player and another dude and make a few pro league runs. That's the endgame, just have enough cake to be your own org if you want to compete.
