7 hours is "enough" sleep?

Really? I get 7-8 and I feel like total chit. I only feel good if I get like 8.5-9 solid hours.

I started going to sleep at 8:30pm and sleeping as late as 7am on weekends,

Wish I started this sh*t in my 20s. I remember being so tired and thinking it was normal.

I love sleeping

Same. I average 7 hours per night and I’m still exhausted daily. I think other factors contribute such as diet, activity levels, sunlight, whether you have to work that day or not.

It depends on the type of sleep youre getting
I wont be good if you never go into REM, otherwise youre never tapping into the full benefits of sleep

Getting a Garmin to monitor that along with my HRV was one of the best things Ive ever done because you learn to understand really how your body reacts to different stressors and what might be causing to sleep and feel like crap the next day

If I get 7 it’s gonna be an amazing day. 5-6 hours average.

Come from a long line of insomniac's, can’t imagine what it’s like to easily fall and stay asleep without a sleep aid.

it's a lucky day if i get 7+

most days my body will automatically wake me up after 6 hours, give or take 10-15mins. very annoying on weekends when I don't want to wake up early, but went to sleep early the night before.

I used to only need 7.5 hours exactly (a perfect number of REM cycles, which are 90 mins each).

But last few years I'm still fukkin BEAT even after getting 8 or 9 hours. Seems getting old means 10 hours is what is needed (or more, but ain't nobody got time for that)

Sleeping in is 9 hours for me, but usually 7 ish. Typically in bed from 10pm-5am. Seems to be okay for me.

Sleep amount also reduces as you age because your brain doesn't need the repair time as much. It's why teenagers suddenly sleep for 12 hours a night, their brains are doing fine development. If you want your kid to function well and be smart, have them on a consistent sleep cycle.
