The problem with studies investigating whether video games cause violence

A lot of them look at a mix of games.

This includes games like World of Warcraft and League of Legends, which do include "violence and death", but the brain is preoccupied with world exploration and strategy respectively.

Whereas games like GTA, some shooter games or Manhunt depict stuff in realistic human social life.

If you create a game where you play someone who tortures tied up women creatively Hostel-style, I can see how that can facilitate homicidal tendencies.

The vast majority of boomer video games studies and investigations were basically anti-gaming propaganda because boomers have always been confused by video games and afraid of them as they never grew up with them.

It's always been the boomer's version of "rock n roll is the devil," fear based hysteria generated by their lack of engagement in and understanding of a type of media.

Luckily the adults are now people who grew up with them and are capable of understanding them, it's just the old farts who still stick to the outdated fear mongering bullchit.
