Ex British soccer player visited by UK Police 4 times past week because of mean tweet

Joey Barton has claimed he has been visited by police three times in the last four days and hit out at 'attempts to intimidate me and my family' - before comparing the UK to North Korea.

The former Manchester City and Newcastle footballer revealed some of his tweets have resulted in multiple police visits at his home this week, with officers asking him for a voluntary interview.

He said on one occasion officers knocked on his door occurred while his children were asleep and slammed any attempts to 'intimidate' his family, saying the methods were akin to something in North Korea.
