Let's say you got an illness and your death is immenent.

Compare that to....a moon sized asteroid about to decimate thr planet, no hope for humanity.

Would the lack of fomo ease your worry?


And no one say "I'm not afraid/worried/unsure" etc. Etc any of that edge lord bullsh*t. Everyone has a healthy fear of death otherwise you'd be dead right now

Yeah anyone who claims they're not afraid of death has never been in a situation where they could actually die...it's that fear that keeps you alive. Personally, it wouldn't matter to me if I was the only one or everyone went with me. I personally would be just as afraid either way.

The psychology behind this reminds me of the "hive mentality" and I do believe it would be easier for most people to accept their demise if they knew it would be with everyone together at the same time, kinda like drinking the punch

But its circumstantial of course because if you're a parent you won't feel good knowing your child is dying along with you so this hive mentality theory doesn't apply to everyone

Death is a very interesting thing when it comes to understanding the concept and experiencing near death scenarios

There have been times where I was in so much pain and suffering (pancreatitis) that I didn't care if I died because the pain superceded everything else I simply wanted the torture to end by any means necessary

That experience actually took allot of my fear of death away..However...

On a separate occasion years later I tore my esoph@gus and was internally bleeding, puked up a gallon of blood and needed emergency surgery almost died...And for the next month I went to sleep thinking a may not wake up because of internal bleeding and THAT was scary and made me afraid to die again...I realized I want to live, death is scary and I'm very curious to see what will happen next in this clown ass fkin world

I think a lot depends on HOW everyone were to die at the same time. If it's an unstoppable asteroid there's nothing you can do about it. On one hand you accept it because there's nothing you can do about it, but at the same time I'd be angry AF that others won't go on.

No I believe you..although I personally think the catalyst behind your anger was fear as it's a basic human survival mechanism. Just my opinion.

Wouldn't give AF either way.

Outside of the circle of my influence in either scenario.
