Adding $1t to the debt every 90-100 days has no consequences, neither did printing $8t in the last few years for the sniffles

Shouldn't you have gotten a raise between 2020 and 2024 though?

Sorry, but this isn't the 1990s, people don't get raises anymore. The only way to earn more money is to jump ship to another company.
Anybody that works hard hoping to get a raise is a fool. Your goal should be to do f/ck all at your job, jump ship to a higher-paying job and do f/ck all at that company as well.
F/ck raises… You gotta adopt the mindset of a self-interested mercenary.

Yeah that's what I really meant. Jumping ship is a raise. No reason to really stay at a company for longer than 3 years. Unfortunately for me, I haven't yet been given a chance at a new company, so I'm stuck.

for the average american it might be a good thing. solution is to eat half as much, i.e. a normal amount of food. also could be a push to limit/discontinue the drinking of sugary beverages and the overeating of processed foods.
though most of those increases can be neutralized when bought in semibulk quantities during sales

"Hey, I'd like a raise."
"Go f*ck yourself."
If a company was paying $20 an hour before the covid psyop, and they're still paying the same today in 2024, what you're really "being paid" is $7-10/hr now, due to the obliteration of purchasing power across the board. Or to put it another way, if you were paid $40/hr today, you wouldn't be living one iota better than in 2019/2020 at $20/hr. Absolutely criminal and warrants the death penalty for everyone that made this happen.

edit ^^^ wizard!
Price gouging? I dunno…I think the rapid push towards green energy, curbing of oil exploration/production, raising of minimum wages, cost of overheads, crisis in Ukraine/Middle East, retail thefts, housing crisis, illegal immigration, etc has all had an impact on the economy and subsequent price increases on consumer products.

Wanna make something very clear, retail thefts are the fault of those companies not enforcing stricter prevention policies.
They are intentionally letting people walk with merchandise and using that as an excuse.

And those prices from 2024 are cheaper than grocery prices from 2020 in Canada. RIP Beavercels
