Thousand Year door remaster on switch to be 30fps

the gamecube ran at 60...

why nintendo is this lazy who knows. guess they know people will run out and buy this so who cares about the quality.
The game runs perfectly in both formats too, at least from the 15 or so hours we’ve played. We’ve not noticed a single frame drop both docked and undocked. However, one downgrade from the GameCube version is that the Switch version only runs at 30fps, compared to the GameCube’s native 60fps.

If 30 FPS is good enough for the "real gamer" Sony Pony then why shouldn't it be for "little kid" Nintendo?

nintendo and sony pony are both dropping the ball. the game industry as a whole needs a remaster. they lost their way.

"Remaster" is the problem. It's lazy and it seeps into other aspects of development. I think what you mean is the industry needs to be burned to the ground, ashes pissed on, earth salted, DEI pushers waterboarded, budgets slashed by 50% or more, and completely new studios created.

Or just ignore it all and play retro games.

I'm currently replaying the original emulating on my Steam Deck and i highly recommend getting this remaster when it comes out. Seriously one of the best RPG's ever made. The gameplay is very fun and it has a cool story with humorous dialogue that makes fun of itself at times. 100x better than Super Mario RPG btw and that's a great game. I play a wide range of game genres and this is my top 5 GOAT.

This port is most likely a low budget port handled by another company.

the game isn't simply a port over and then they limited it to 30 fps, thats some CNN type reporting

its "remastered" with real lighting effects and updated models

Can’t wait to play the goat, but will wait for Switch 2 on the off chance they update it.

Looks so good visually, way more than just a standard remaster
