Mirin Pink Hydrangeas.. Ten bucks says they blue though lol.. Mine seem to be hit or miss though for some reason. One year huge colorful blooms - and the next year... meh.
I recently planted some Petunias, and they seem to be doing well so far.
Grass absolutely mystifies me though.. I've sprayed week killer, and sprayed... and sprayed. Just FLM

It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

Sounds like a good day.
Me and my family are going to a railroad museum. My son loves trains. There are a bunch if tracks and toy trains he can play with on the 3rd floor.
Enjoy your planting. Cheers.

The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

This summer i'm doing the exact opposite. I'm done with lawn upkeep. I'm going to rent a Bobcat to dig up all the grass buy a bunch of tarp to lay on top of the dirt, get some cacti or succulents and maybe some wood chips or gravel (haven't decided) and i'm going the "decorative landscape" route.
No more fighting with weed-eaters and lawnmowers, no more hours wasted raking up leaves and grass only to water the lawn so that it grows back and you have to repeat the process all over again, no more wasting water.
The only lawn upkeep i'll be doing is with my garden, as it actually has purpose other than aesthetics, and maybe if I can put more energy into my garden I can get better control over weeds, and pests like snails and aphids.

And got the rocks arranged now..

I'm gonna get some topsoil this weekend to fill it - Along with spreading out enough to cover up the tree roots. But then I have no idea what I'll plant yet - and I am wide open for suggestions.. I actually do kinda like the way the rocks look though and wish I had thought of this sooner.
