Boss asked me to acid etch one of the storage rooms at work. is it safe?
So I work at a ice rink and this is one of those odd job type things that the boss asked me to do yesterday. We have a very old room and we are redoing the flooring on it to make it epoxy. He called me and one girl into his office and showed us a 3 minute youtube video on how to acid etch. The issue tho was that we dont have any drain so he wanted us to use a mop to wash it and then use a shop-vac to suck up the water. The weird part was that he didnt instruct us to use any sort of mask or goggles or rubber boots he just told us to go do it. He also didnt warn us about using warm vs cold water when we mix the solution. Lastly, that room has absolutely zero ventilation so we would have been breathing in the acid. Did we do the right thing by refusing to do it later on or are we just being pussies?
