Need Help with Starch Eating when it's Dark Outside
I have a 4 week trainer's meal plan that's vegetarian and has over 100g of protein a day. I like this one much more than my previous trainer's plan as it has variety. But still, I have a major sweet tooth from eating a lot of protein bars and shakes so it's tough to adjust to eating a tofu and veggie stir fry for dinner. Anyhow, I've been doing it by gritting my teeth and telling myself it's best for my health.
My problem is when it gets dark???
For some reason I just have to mentally get past this, but I only want starchy food--bread, crackers or chips that my husband has. I don't buy that stuff.
I buy fruit and protein shakes if I get hungry late at night but I mentally won't eat them. It's so weird as I'll eat them when it's light outside.
I've lost 3 inches off of my legs with her workouts and 1 inch off my waist in a month but I would lose a lot faster in my stomach if I wasn't doing this nighttime eating. I'm getting to the point where I want to hypnotize myself or something. I'm also doing this 30 day Navy SEAL challenge and writing down affirmations in my journal to train my mind.
When I was in the psych ward and when I travel I don't have the food around me so I don't have those cravings. I actually lost 3 lbs in 3 days. I've worked with my therapist on this for years and have attended Overeaters Anonymous meetings. She will say to do deep breathing or watch a movie or something to distract me but it doesn't work.
I try chewing gum but end up chewing the whole pack. I don't use artificial sweeteners so I use regular gum and that's full of sugar, so that's like 100 calories and my starch eating was around an extra 100-200 calories until the last couple of weeks. Maybe due to my stress and anxiety.
My A1C is normal but cholesterol goes up and then down to normal year to year. My blood pressure is low so I'm lucky that my weight hasn't messed up my health markers that much, at least in my early 50s.

Bump. I ate exactly my meal plan today. Now I'm going to pray and try this visualization!
I didn't do any nighttime eating in the psych ward as I think it was because I had 3 square meals a day. I always ensured to order fruits and veggies with my meal.
I feel full now after having my Thai tofu and brown rice stir fry. It was actually really tasty with this sauce from Whole Foods!

Have some fkn discipline. That's all.
Why do you claim a sweet tooth as an excuse? That's "I have no discipline" in a nutshell and a sorry excuse. Eat like your parents would have taught you to eat your fruits and vegetables, beans, rice etc with meat. Outside of that you're just making an excuse like an alcoholic that can't quit drinking. Yeah it is that easy. Consider starches no more or your body will do it for you.

Iโm eating fiber gummies now but those can have bad consequences if you eat too many.
I like the brushing teeth one.

My secret: butternut squash. Bloats you up, but it has fewer carbs than potatoes. That, and I recommend eating more whole fruits like a pineapple or an orange. The carb count is low for the amount of fiber and filling you will get. And it still gives you that sugar burst you need.

Now I'm moving out soon so that will definitely help. Yesterday was a MUCH better food day than the weekend. I cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner. Whew! I'm not used to cooking that much, but I worked from home.

blows my mind how dumb you are about nutrition and diet, even though you've posted here way more times than me
do some research, there's a reason why if you're cutting your body craves chitty food
but thats too hard to understand basic chit about the human body, keep attention whoring, being obese, and claim its not your fault

I felt terrible at work that I couldn't go downstairs and get a fig bar or a greek yogurt with honey. My snack on my menu today was different.
It will help once I move out as I will be away from my ex-husband's food. I feel like he just buys junk food to bait me.
It's just weird about the whole light/dark in terms of eating.
