Is it true that depression never goes away?

im extremely successful in what I do but when work is done I get so depressed because I have nothing to do or anyone meaningful to spend it with

I’ve had a very hard life, so my depression is normal

I realized at now 31 years old I will most likely be alone forever

I’m buying a new car this month (trading in my 2019 Audi for a bmw) so hopefully that brings me some liveliness in my life

I only have a few friends and but I distance myself since nobody invites me anywhere anymore really since I’m such a flake and anti social

I’m always depressed with very dark thoughts
