Deep Rock Galactic kinda mogs Helldivers 2
At least in the early game so far.
I havnt gotten very far in Helldivers 2 so it's just very early impressions for me, I played with my buddy recently and we had a bit of fun. We're still very early in our builds etc, however just from an early game startpoint:
-I feel like DRG has far more personality.
-DRG has better class differentiation from the get go and which class you pick instantly changes how the mission is done / taken care of.
- The community in DRG has been a blessing, even when I/we started the game we had people on mic from the get go and everyone was super welcoming and it was a damn good time to had. In my early Helldivers 2 experience, our squad just split into people going after loot/objectives so there was never any sort of comraderie or teamwork unless you were guys were together.
- Due to how each classes synergize and playoff one another, DRG felt like it required far more teamwork, even in the early stages and even more so in harder difficulties and raid dungeons. Success was truly a cohesive and teamwork effort that demanded communication.
- Also feels like there's far more customization from the get go to really define how your character looks from other miners.
Would love to hear thots from people who've been playing helldivers longer and still familiar with DRG and to prove me wrong. Maybe Helldivers 2 is having a good time due to recency bias and it being a "sony exclusive" , but at least from the early game so far I'm not convinced if it's going to be a classic like DRG.
With DRG, 2 games in and you already knew that this game is going to be a fukkin classic, the gameplay, the music, the demand for teamwork/communication for successs and the personality/atmosphere absolutely just seeping in through all directions.
