It seems like culturally, Russia has turned into the US circa 1990's. Only, they don't have, and probably never will have, the demographic challenges we had then that have increased exponentially since about 2012.

Can't really have a country full of self hating leftist whites and hate everything minorities and expect it to thrive. We (the US) used to be so cool. Now we are just fake and ghey.

I have a number of Russian friends and I've commented that they're going through their "Woodstock" phase. Basically where we were 50 years ago. They have some great hippy oriented festivals (Solar Systo which is like Burning Man) and are producing some great, innovative music (Aigel, Atlantida Project, Drummatix, IC3Peak, Noize MC).
