Do Bluetooth headphones last longer than earbuds?

I’ve mostly been only into earbuds but every single one I buy eventually stops working. I have had probably 4 or 5 different brands and they eventually all become useless. Most recently my XM4’s no longer take much of a charge and don’t last for more than 10 minutes now. I’m thinking of just giving headphones a try since earbuds just die pretty soon. If I get the XM5 but headphones instead of earbuds will they last longer than the earbuds? How long do your headphones last?
