That’s a nice gesture, OP (srs).

But how did Mother’s Day turn into “Women’s Day?”

Your wife is not your mother. She might be A mother, but the kids are supposed to give her a gift. My grandpa used to get my grandma flowers every year too and I never understood it.

It's Mothers day, not Your Mothers Day.

Getting your wife a card and flowers or something like that has always been a thing. Wives get their husbands a card and a small gift on Fathers Day too.

Mother's day was in march for me. My daughter and I made my wife a cake and I told my daughter it was a secret. When my wife got home, the first thing my daughter said was "mommy, we made cake".

I don't know for sure what I'm doing this year but on the subject of housework appliances I think the robot vac I got her a few years ago has been her favorite mother's day gift ever.

This. Kids are 27 and 25. They're old enough to take care of it themselves. Besides, it's looking more and more like I won't even be home by then.
