A reasonable balance between free market capitalism with a socialist safety net where the reasonable balance is determined via democratic vote and the culture encourages voters to be informed and embrace different opinions as a strength of society rather than an existential threat (yeah pipe dream). The balance would also come with mechanisms to discourage free loaders.

As a political system: more power to local communities to adopt economic systems that the local voters want and less federal government control. This way people have ways to choose outside of voting by moving to communities that suit their preferences. In doing so there will be a kind of survival of the fittest of economic systems and we can test which systems work better/worse instead of argue about it from our own personal benefit bias.

Edit: Sorry, didn't see the poll. I'm not sure either of those are ideal but I don't really understand what they mean a whole lot.
