Third Film in the "Downton Abbey" Series Planned

London (dpa) - Another film is being made for theseries"Downton Abbey." After six seasons and twomovies, a third film is now planned, as announced by Focus Features and CarnivalFilmson Monday. The series tells the story of a British aristocratic family and their servants at the beginning of the 20th century.

"We are happy to announce that we have started production on the third 'Downton Abbey'film," said actress Michelle Dockery in avideo on Instagram. It is nice to come together with everyone again.

Theseriesran for six seasons, following Lord and Lady Grantham, their daughters, and the staff of their magnificent estate. The story began with the sinking of the Titanic and the question of the family's future.

In addition to the series, which is set in England's Highclere Castle, two films, "Downton Abbey" and "Downton Abbey II: A New Era," have been released. The screenplay for the third film is once again written by Oscar winner Julian Fellowes. Simon Curtis, who directed the second film, will return as director.

Many actors will return for the new installment, including Hugh Bonneville (Robert Crawley), Elizabeth McGovern (Cora Crawley), Dockery (Lady Mary), Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith), and Jim Carter (as the butler). Actors Dominic West ("The Crown") and Paul Giamatti ("The Holdovers") are also set to appear.
