Why don't serial killers get tortured to death?

They can brutally kill as many people in whatever way possible and in return they get to live a sheltered life in protective custody

Once there time is up, if they are on death row, they even get to eat whatever they want to eat before execution. One last cheat meal for all the victims they slaughtered

instead of a long, painful death what do they get? They get a lethal injection which will instantly kill them pain free, as if they were getting a high dose of painkillers at the hospital

Cause while they deserve it those that govern a true and honorable society do not drop themselves to the level of a monster.

Real men operate under color of law. Cause in the end there is really no other way not if you want to consider your self a democracy. Not even a democracy even. Just as men or women.

I'm sure Stalin amd saddam would agree with you but that's hardly the example I'd tell anyone to follow

Pretty much

We see the hanioues things these people do and it's only human nature to have a gut reaction. Of "take them out and do this ot that"

But it can't be that way. Personally in a perfect world yes. The families of those victims should be the ones that choose. I know I'd want that ifnit were me. Well part of me would the other part would not.

The law and those who serve it and enforce it MUST WALK IN GOOSE STEP. There is no way around that. The minute someone breaks that perfect stride. What example does that set? Bad people will ALWAYS ALWAYS do what they want when they want with out care for others or repercussions

I've always thought the the most difficult and soul stealing job yet at the same time the most honorable and rewarding job a man can have is L.E. it's not suppose to be easy. But when you do God's work it's not going to be. . ..I doubt any of you would get the Geist of what I'm saying anyways

That message will only be understood by REAL law men. Not fakes and frauds who have no care much less love /respect for their station

torture to death, as latverian already pointed out ( on spread btw), would bring society to same level with monsters. Besides, you cannot really punish capital crimes anyway, death isn't a punishment but escape.

Once you are dead, your sufferings do not matter anymore, doesn't matter how much pain you had to endure prior to that. It is a bit of a mind twist, but true. Without memories of pain, there is no suffering, and no lesson learned. Dead body doesn't know it is dead, doesn't know it ever lived. Because it is dead.

And it will not bring victims back.

you don't know what that means. They're completely isolated in a concrete box for the rest of their lives. They have no contact with other inmates and no real entertainment besides books. Worse than death.

Two wrongs doesn't make a right
Also think about the killers family as well. He is the son of a mother and father and maybe he has kids. As someone above me said, it's easy to have that gut reaction, but that doesn't make it right

According to the Death Penalty Information Center (DPIC), at least 4% of those sentenced to death in the U.S. since 1973 are likely innocent. This represents one person being exonerated for every eight people executed. As of April 2022, about 2,400 to 2,500 people are still on death row.

They do get looked up to. The more victims, the more money people will send to them and the more "fans" they will have

I imagine Nikolas Cruz is living a nice life playing playstation in his cell all day while getting unlimited snacks from the money sent to him

Death is a deterrent from the crime..it works as this, therefore it is justifiable to kill those that kill others. No other deterrent works.

Shut the fck up you worthless felon. When you enforce consequences there will be no 2 wrongs making a right. I bet if you thought you might get tortured then killed you wouldn't have ever tried to rob a bank and forever scar those people. Then gotten the chance to try to rape another man in prison.

No one wants to talk about it, but that poor guy probably still has nightmares too maybe worse than the people in the bank.

FOR PROFIT PRISON system needs to be reformed. I watched a bit of program about Prison experience in other countries and it looked like very regulated militaristic discipline which would probably be rather unpleasant to those of a criminal nature, so maybe at least start with something like that, make life in prison a militaristic misery of regulated discipline and perhaps that would be a first step in giving villains pause to think twice before doing the bad deed!

They should get locked up in the basement of another serial killer as he gets his brain served up for dinner. Then that one ends up in the same place. If nothing else, send them to take out Killary and the rest.

School shooters that are caught in the act should be tortured or shot on the spot. Same with terrorists. That's about it.

The world has protected criminals over victims since forever. The world doesn’t make any sense. If someone breaks into my house I should be allowed to do what I want to him.

You don't understand why laws are in place. I know it seems that way and some times it happens that way but the greater good is what must matter.

Trust me I get what you are saying. There is a reason why you don't have wide open towns.

It's hard and it's a thin line at times but believe me when I say the other way would be much worse on society.

In cases where its 10000000% proven, literally zero doubt they should be tortured in the ways that they did in medieval times.

“These same judges and hangman realized, too, that their witch trials were intended not only to torture the witches, but even more to torture the bystanders, who, albeit unconsciously, identified themselves with the victims. This is, of course, one of the reasons burnings and hangings were held in public and became the occasion for great pageants. Terror thus became widespread, and many judges spoke euphemistically of the preventive action of such torture. Psychologically, we can see this entire device as a blackmailing of human sympathy and the general tendency to identify with others.”
