I would also demand an itemized statement of annual HOA spending.

wouldn't do an hoa neighborhood. would give up on some house to avoid them. don't like people telling me what to do...city doesn't do that unless your grass gets 2 feet high

it's blacks. when i see these 0.10-0.15 acre lot vinyl jungles becoming 15-20%+ black...it's over. if you're working or middle class you need to stay in white neighborhoods that have been white for generations. the kind of neighborhoods where blacks sorta don't feel welcomed.

you can see plenty of streets with working class whites that are pretty well kept despite not having hoa uniformity. once a neighborhood becomes 15-20% black...more blacks will come. don't even want to think of the ones that become 30-40%+ black.

Around here, they are necessary if your neigborhood isn't completely developed. Otherwise, you might get Ma and Pa Kettle move in with a single wide. Then come the meth addicted thrid cousins and so on and so forth.

Fortunately, my hoa is laid back and only costs $100/yr.

yeah thats some BS but the HOA has way more power than they should and they can really make your life miserable.

Thats why I never buy a rental in an HOA community.

well at the time i made a chitty choice to buy a house "closer to work" and then our contract didnt get renewed 7mo later so that was fuk up #1. fuk up #2 was buying in an hoa lmao

thing is you never really know how theyre going to be. i hadnt heard anything bad at all abt them then out of nowhere the next year they became nazis & the yearfter and the year after

theres a guy across the street from me, grass legit 18in tall who works for the builder, that the HOA refuses to take to court and keeps citing "privacy"about whether theyve got a fine.

hoas could be fine one day and then im learning totally fukkin change the next day. on the zoom meeting she said if she can see in between your fence panels its fair game whether or not you have a violation in your back yard.
