Came across this and man, that video hit me in the feels.


I definitely miss all those gta clones from back in the older gens especially the ps2/ps3 era. They had so many cool little unique games that used a city backdrop where you do chit. Of course not all those games came to the level of GTA, but they were still some pretty fun competent games regardless.

Since the PS4 gen we've hardly had any games that use an open world city backdrop (apart from Cyberpunk) .... Most games just end up being lame post apocalyptic settings or just a big open world sandbox where you don't really get that city feel nomsayin.

I was crushed when I learned they’ll be no sleeping dogs sequel . I platted that game btw. Cool.

True Crime: Streets of LA is hands down the best GTA clone out there.

But Mr. Bearycuck still doesnt give sleepy dogs the respect it deserves, personally I'd say it's the best gta clone lol.

Sleeping Dogs isnt a clone. Its its own game and is better than all the GTAs. Only thing that comes close as far as similarity is Judgment

M8 tell your aunt over at EA to create some gta clones. EA seems to be the only company nowadays that kinda cares about single player games since Ubisoft chit the bed with their gaasy turn.



Let's not bring Judgement/Yakuza games into this, because even though they have the city vibe, they're not "gta clones" though imo.

I remember really liking Just Cause 2. Then the 3rd one came out and it was lame and there is even a 4th which i never played but they say its chit too.
