Any of youy guys shave with a safety razor? Wish I discovered this 10 years ago.

I tried shaving with a safety razor for the first time today and my face has never looked or felt better after a shave. No irritation at all. No redness. No razor burn or bumps. My face felt so good all day today. I also look way better than usual. Maybe it's that my skin tone is even, with no redness.

I usually shave at night, because my face gets so irritated that I need to let it repair itself overnight before going out the next day. With a safety razor, I could shave in the mornings, no problem. Hard to overstate how big the difference is.

Pros:

- Way less irritation, as there is only 1 blade. Multi-blade razors literally scrape off layers of your skin.
- Really cheap (name brand - in this case, Gillette - razors are 20 cents Canadian). I shave every 2-3 days, so 1 razor should last me 2 weeks. That's roughly $5.20 per year (LOL).
- Looks cooler, more manly, more old-timey. Sort of like the vinyl records of shaving.

Cons:

- Biggest con, at least when I'm new to shaving this way, was that it took much longer than a cartridge shave. Maybe I was being too careful because I was afraid of cutting myself.
- Not quite as close a shave as a cartridge, because it's only 1 blade. You might need 2 passes to get as close. I personally don't care about this, as the difference in comfort is night and day. Best way to describe the difference if that a safety razor will cut the hair *at* the edge of the skin, while a cartridge goes *under* the skin (while also removing layers of skin).

Overall, I recommend you at least try it to see if you like it. Especially recommended for guys who experience irritation from shaving.
