Diesel demand lowest since 1998

Demand for diesel fuel (manufacturing, trucking sector) was at its lowest in March since 1998.

Good for decelerating goods inflation but also a bellwether of how the economy is actually doing, that a slowdown is already upon us.

if trucks are not on the road, diesel isn't needed.
why aren't trucks on the road making deliveries?
