Guy threw a stick at me while I was biking

I was biking on a bike lane that has a metal guard rail between the bike path and sidewalk. Guy was leaning against the rain with his back turned away from me.

I rode by and shouted WOO when I was behind him. I was kind of shocked he reacted that way. No way for him to know I was shouting at him. He also yelled FUK YOU when he threw it.

Who does that?
