Just canoed down the entire Cape Fear River

Started on the Haw River below the Jordan Lake Dam and ended in Southport, North Carolina. It took 9 days to paddle 195 miles. I was in a canoe and my friend used his kayak. It was incredible. The scenery was amazing and I saw lots of cool wildlife, bald eagles, bobcats, alligators, dolphins, etc. I'm planning to write a blog post about the trip soon and could share it if anyone is interested.

This is one of the campsites below Buckhorn Dam. There was no weather on the radar but at midnight a severe thunderstorm rolled through and soaked all our gear.

One beautiful morning.

Approaching the final of three locks on the river. The first two don't open anymore, and the lock master wouldn't pick up the phone so like all the other dams we had to portage around, grueling work.

Outdoorbrah in one of the rapids. The water levels were good and nothing got above class II.
