We made accounts for the chat rooms
The account names were things like A0LPASSWORDHELP (with the zero substituted for the "o" because you could not have a name with AOL

We would message people and say they had a problem with the password they had and to type it in the chat and we could help

25% of people would just give the password
We would log in, kick them off, delete the friends list and change the password

After a couple weeks, go to 56k dial up log in and get a message to call

It was AOL and they ask for the main person on the account
They tell my parent we were hacking and I need to promise not to do it again
My parent did not ever go online and did not know what hacking was and the word is a weird word because they are not American born

I made some bs up after they got off the phone and all was good
