If you buy a new battery from an auto parts store. Tell them to test it before you take it home.

Story time.
Wife’s car battery died. I went, got a new battery, gave them the old to dispose of. Installed it. Car started but it struggled. Figure the alternator will charge it up.
Week goes by, having the same problem. But because the car starts, I drive it to auto parts store. Have them test it.
Confirmed that the new battery is plucked too. (Da’fuq?)

Have him put in another battery. This time car doesn’t even turn over. I tell him to test the battery before putting it in.

He goes in the back. 10 min later he comes out with 4 more batteries. He tell me 2 of the 4 are dead, plus dead one he tried in the car, and the dying one I bought a week ago.

4 out of 6 batteries they had in stock for that car were dead.
