Virtually nobody can fix basic things in 2024.

Yeah I know - southpark did the episode about tradies taking over the world, and this idea has been beaten to death....

But honestly some of the most self-reliant people I know won't even do their own spark plugs...

Just talked to a relative who can't put his own trailer hitch rack on the bottom of his new car..... The shop told him they won't be able to do it for 2 weeks, and it would cost $300 lmfao.

It's literally 4 or 6 hex bolts with a socket ratchet to do the job. They said if he wants the electrical hookup (he doesn't) it would be an additional $300 on top of that..... Wtf.

Imagine making $300 to twist on 6 hex nuts, and you actually have a 2 week WAITING LIST of people paying you $300/pop to do it.

Like, should I just open a garage in an industrial park and do this all day? I could make like $4k/day by myself for doing almost nothing.
