Rich, poor, black, white, swole, unswole, straight, gay.. etc everyone comes into the world crying and scared and is afraid of things in life and death and being lonely or experiencing sorrow and loss, everyone struggles with some kind of physical or mental problems and to become a better person we fight the same character defects such as pride, selfishness, fear, resentments, self pity, laziness, jealousy, greed, ego, codependency, hate/anger, impatience.. etc

That is why the Bible says the flesh is against us, because if we do nothing and just follow the world and its values we are bound and enslaved by so many devices that prevent us from true joy and peace.. we die into infinity in the own misery that we let consume us.
