15 million dollars. That was a lot of money at the time. And for what exactly? A lot of empty land? Full of birds & twigs?? Sure, that land is worth a ton now. Great return on the investment, right? But I'd be long dead before I could ever cash in big, fellas. Plus, I know the minute I went to scope out that land, I would've ended up with a tomahawk to the back of the neck. My shrunken head hanging off some loin'd man's peace-pipe. No thanks. Really, if I had 15 mil in 1800, I would've bought some cattle or something. Chickens. Something that would've actually been of some use to myself and my family at the time. Not some stupid patch of land plagued with headhunting Indians and rabid grizzly bears.
