Why don't they just do Renos and flip properties instead for profit when it's obviously x10 more lucrative? Being a landlord basically means you do the bare minimum to maintain a lazy lifestyle of scrapping by in a poor effort to make "passive money". Not to mention having to deal with tenants that refuse to vacant your property when their lease is over and decide on their own whim to stop paying whenever they want. Then you have to deal with them not paying for 6 months before the court orders finally gets them out after they destroy your property.

Just lol @ landlords. I used to install appliances and I routinely had to deal with a number of landlords that "owned" multiple properties. They were always losers that didn't work and being a landlord was their "job". Their properties were always in need of renovations and numerous repairs. Do they not realize there are better ROI than "owning" a rental??

Would never rent out my house. Rather it be vacant or let a family member stay for free if I couldn't sell
