Notice how Romney was up consistently against Obama in the Summer of 2012, similar to how Trump is slightly up right now against Biden. This is very typical during incumbent election years (outside of the 2020 covid anomaly year) - you end up having the opposition leading during the Summer before the election, and then as time goes on, people go back to the incumbent by September/October. This is why early polls are effectively useless.

I foresee a similar thing happening with Trump and Biden. We'll have Trump winning in the Summer, but by the time October rolls around, suddenly chit will get real and no one will care about Biden's debate gaffe back in June. Feeling very comfy right now with Biden.
