I thought miscers were exaggerating. NYC really is an absolute chit hole
It seems glamorous from all the posts you see on IG and whatnot. Hot women, incredible food, tons of things to see/do.
In reality though, when you look at quality of life:
1) Dog chit all over the sidewalks. People pretty much walk their dogs and let them piss and chit wherever they please, and many times they don't pick up their chit.
2) Illegals everywhere, and low income dingers everywhere too. Somehow the crime isn't bad, but these people are a real eyesore. There are entire streets where they congregate with their bikes/mopeds.
3) Humidity is insane and makes the city feel like Florida. My LIPS sweat when I go out just for 10 minutes. Shirts become baggy, and it's absolutely disgusting.
4) Lack of AC. Subway system has zero AC. You can literally slice the air, it's that humid down there. Many buildings including my own apartment building have no AC in the lobby.
5) Apartments are stupid expensive. $2.7k-$3k all in for a chitty walkup studio unless you move outside of Manhattan.
6) Trash all along the sidewalks that gets cooked during the summer heat. Nasty smells year round.
7) Rats outside, roaches inside. Absolutely disgusting.
I'm pretty sure at this point that Chicago is better. It has none of these problems.
