Guy invites me over for cookouts sometimes. He harbors a suppressed disdain for me. Always has. But we're very cordial. So he invites me over sometimes. To watch baseball games and stuff. Just watched the Homerun Derby at his place last night. All-star Game tonight. He sits on the couch next to his wife, either with his cellphone or laptop in hand, and browses Face-book the entire time. For hours. His wife sits next to him doing the exact same thing. They occasionally chat with each other. Usually about Face-book."Did you see the vacation photos Linda uploaded yesterday? Looks like they stayed at a really nice resort."All as the ****ing game is going on.

And much like myself, my dad's a very big baseball fan. But he's eight feet from the TV asking me questions about the games."Don, how'd that guy reach third?"... It pisses me off. It really does, fellas. He's always on his phone. Browsing Face-book. I look over and he's just scrolling through people's photos like a zombie. Peeves me horribly. I keep trying to talk baseball with him and he often doesn't even reply. Like I didn't even say anything at all. He's always tried so hard to present himself as a Ward Cleaver kind of guy publicly. Very concerned with his social image. But the jackass can't even put his phone down for a few hours and watch a ballgame with his son.

Just needed to vent, fellas. Going over there tonight for the same ****ing thing.
