Memphis: Mom tells son to pay for his b-day pizza, son pulls gun on mom

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man allegedly pulled a gun out on his mother and beat up her boyfriend after being asked to pay his tab at an East Memphis restaurant on his birthday, according to Memphis Police.

On July 9, officers responded to an incident at TJ Mulligans on Kirby Parkway.

A woman told police she walked to the parking lot to ask her son, Hibbs, who was sitting in his car, to pay his tab. During their talk, Hibbs reportedly pulled a handgun out of his backpack and said, “Do you want me to get out with this?”

According to MPD, the woman’s boyfriend confronted Hibbs, resulting in a fight. The boyfriend had bruising and swelling under his eyes and a bloody nose and lip.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Hibbs bailed out of jail Wednesday on a $5,000 bond.
