I'm the type of person it's hard for me to be happy for others. It used to really eat me up inside when someone would get more attention than me.

I still don't necessarily feel good when someone outshines me but I made a resolution a few years ago to try to put as much positivity into the world as possible. So I try to make other people feel good and celebrate their accomplishments when I can - even if I'm bad at it.

I think a lot of people, maybe the majority, feel like this but they are better at hiding it.

Reads like a copy/pasta from reddit.

But if you're not able to be happy people - that is a serious problem. For you, and the relationships you try to have. Glad you recognize it though and it seems you're trying to work on it.
