could you live off of just your projected social security

i figure i could. which means i retire early at age 55 (17 years) with a reduced pension (like 50%) and enough savings to cover the gap until age 62.

Bad idea, the people who get the most from social security are the ones who need it the least

Not depending on it. My current contributions puts me at 15k a month (until I’m 91) retiring in 10 years at 61. SS will be extra if it’s even still available at the time.

Hey Red....

Being as how I have no fan base, I couldn't resist:https://soundcloud.com/chulaivet1966/retired

I did in back in Dec. 2010 just prior to 64.
We have 401K incomes also and we're both retired without any CC debt.
We're not rich but we eat quite well and can easily pay our way keeping Crown Royal & good beer in the budget.

To me, this is as close to heaven on Earth that I'll get.

Best to those getting close to that decision.

Carry on.
