Any miscers done stand up comedy? (srs)

Rogan and crew always talk about how difficult it is to do a 1 minute set every week with new material every time.
I can't imagine it would be that difficult to come up with a minutes worth of material if it's literally your job so you have so much free time to think it up. But these guys act like it's a brutal grind to do it. I'm pretty sure I'd be significantly funnier than the vast majority of the mouthbreathers on Kill Tony.
Anyone tried doing standup comedy? Is it really that difficult to be funny?

I could easily do 1 min a week of new material.

Prob 30% bombs, 65% is average, and 5% is funny in what I’d think of.

It’s a creative process and it’s probably more difficult than it seems.

I’m sure what Rogan and the others mean by grind is showing up every night, getting booed or not. It’s a skill that needs to be polished and I’m sure it can suck to bomb night after night unless you fix the bits.

I remember seeing a guy perform live and looked him up on YouTube. Most of his material was the same just told slightly different, the cadence and some words changed to make it better in person.

'What about that Titan sub huh? When Stocktons wife said she liked it deep, I think he got the wrong idea....'

Literally came up with that in a few seconds and I'd fill the room with laughs on Kill Tony srs

I cant remember 1 joke much less a whole bunch of them.

my brother used to write jokes and he had a million of them. he could easily have done a whole show with stuff he made up.

I think it's alot of personality honestly.

Dude half of these people interviewed on kill Tony seem awkward as ****. Idk how you expect to stand in front of a crowd, and make everyone laugh, when you probably have very little interaction with humans and are socially inept. Like how do you think you're going to be a funny storyteller when you get on stage and Tony says "what's the most interesting thing about you?" and you have jack **** to say lmao.

I understand the nerves of being up on stage and I'm sure it does **** with people but I seriously don't comprehend people like this who choose stand up comedy.

Every successful comedian is witty and sharp when it comes to talking to people.




Idk if I could do a successful minute. I feel like I could. But maybe not. Either way I know I wouldn't be a Fkn weirdo when it came time for Tony to interview me LOL. I'd have chit to talk about and I wouldn't be scared to just speak to the panel like they were regular people.

Yea especially considering a lot of contestants are clearly pretty drunk or high on something which would make them a lot less anxious and more talkative but they're still awkward outcasts. Pretty mind blowing tbh but I guess it's no different to terrible singers with no self awareness applying for American Idol
