You’re not gonna both reach for the same DVD copy of Shrek 2 and touch hands and fall in love.

Just go to the zoo bro!

It'll never be Friday night at Blockbuster again

Your mom isn't going to slide you and your school buds all a cheeky $20 to rent a movie, a vidya game and get a large pizza a 2L bottle of coke (yes, you could get all that for $20)

You won't be quad-screening GoldenEye N64 or Halo or whatever game you rented

You're not going to pop up some microwave popcorn and share with your buds as you talk about life and watch the movie.

The alarm's ringing, you gotta get up to waveslave to barely make ends meet. Your phone has 20 notifications from Mr. Sheckleberg passive-agressively demanding you to do more work or you'll get laid off next quarter.

You slam down a big cup of coffee and rush through the shower to just barely make it on time to your cubicle after fighting traffic in your econobox.

This is life in 2023 in Biden's America.
"The best investments you ever make are investments in yourself - and your education. Those investments always pay big dividends." - Donald J. Trump, 45th & 47th President of the United States of America

Guys used to have this fantasy where they'd be sitting at home on a Saturday night, all alone, and decide to go out and rent a movie. Maybe a good Will Ferrell flick. Just as a way to ease the loneliness for an hour-and-a-half or so. They have this little fantasy where they'd go into Hollywood Video and run into a lonely girl doing the exact same thing as them. Renting a Will Ferrell movie in hopes of easing her loneliness. And they'd instantly meet eyes, fall in love and never be lonely again.

Honestly, I doubt such a scenario has ever played out in real life. Not in the history of mankind. Maybe in the movie that the lonely guy rents that might happen. Not in the real world though. No chance.
