I've known a couple over the years. It's a job for people in their 20s, and it's usually a frat like atmosphere where everyone earns like $75k-$150k per year and works 50-55 hours per weeks and a lot of drinking and degeneracy.

There was a point where I would have loved this job, but now it's probably not appealing.

Worked for very large broker (in IT but still) and the job sucks balls. You basically have to screw the truckers over, that is your job. Also the turn over rate for that job is VERY HIGH for a reason. That said there were people pulling in millions at my company, but those are the survival bias stories.

Also you had to cover Saturdays as well at my old place. not sure about where you are looking.

Interviewed for a broker job while finishing up my degree. The money is not bad but its sales. Im not cut out for a sales job so I didn't take it but if you are go for it.

lmao TQL calls me 3 times everyday. i used them once earlier this year, and they have kept calling since. everytime i requested a quote, it's been high and I really had to negotiate with them to bring it down

You are basically the Uber to transport goods from point A to point B. You connect truckers with people who need to transport items.

You need to find a way to ship your pallet of engine parts from CA to NJ. How TF do you do that? Just ask random truckers at a rest stop if they will take your pallet? Do you go on craigslist and ask for cross country pallet transport?



Naw, you call a broker who "finds" you the cheapest (aka largest kickback to broker) transport for your pallet. And deals with the some dumbass truckers and problems and ports and terminals and other trucker problems.
