freedom of ideas is one thing, but if you have no boundaries then you get inundated with filth and smut.

I do somewhat agree in that speech should be 100% free however, nothing is free from consequences. So I don't personally agree with this gentleman but would never attempt to stop him. But imo...your rights to say whatever you please don't protect you from the consequences of said words.

With Twitter, it's all about what gets promoted. I still would rather see the N word on there occasionally rather than seeing obvious astroturfing and censorship galore that is tightly controlled to fit a narrative.

Obviously racism makes you squirm a little bit, but this is a much preferred situation to the alternative that we've had on Social Media for the last decade.

To be fair, not everything is binary. I don't need to go to extremes. I get what you're saying though and gun to my head, I'd prefer the way twitter is over sensorship.

I would argue that it's not a cesspool. If the conversation of humanity is being driven to porn, n-word, and such, perhaps there is something there that is truly intelligent and beautiful. These are conversations that we couldn't have until now

I totally understand where you're coming from but when it comes to issues like constitutional rights, it's all or nothing. We have to accept that our rights should be awarded to all..up to and including you're worst enemies or degenerate things like porn...now I'm a Nhilist and assuming you're Christian? If so, then you should grasp free will and understand that it's your responsibility to teach your Christian morals to your children or peers. I personally think porn is a cancer but it's not my place to stop it or attempt to stop folks from watching it. Imo...the worst thing I can do to that industry is simply choose to not participate.

It's not. Ever read a liverstream twitch chat of one of those influencers? There's a reason why you have "moderators" to keep standards of speech.

Instead you just have spam of porn, snuff/death videos, all comments are full of other spam, and none of it is because of en masse conversation about these topics. It's all manipulated algorithms and marketing/spam related schemes.

Again, it's better to have 1 place like this maybe as a pressure valve for society that allows this, but for most people they should just avoid it. It's absurd. I made a twitter a while back and after 1 month the majority of my followers were spam onlyfans bots, and my timeline somehow went from normal political commentary to videos of blacks doing heinous crimes and pro tranny talk. It was psychotic.

Yea but the other thing you have to realize is that there is no such thing as "free speech" and never has been. Things like slander/defamation, speaking of illegal conduct, physical threats and so on. You are free to say those things, but in the same way you're free to kill someone. You have consequence.

And yea I'm Christian, so I don't have the public sphere to have freedom of speech and expression without moderation. You must have moderation unless you want naked people in public for example.

Oh yeah..100%..which is why I stated in my earlier post about nothing being free from consequences. When I say free speech, it pertains to the law. Not so much in terms of other consequences such as moral issues or people not associating with you. And I'll be the first to admit that our society has fallen into that little known city in Genesis 19 and falls far from the Christian principles that the nation was built on...however..I still stick to the concept of accepting rights for all. Even something as disgusting as porn or racism
