Cancer sucks. But looking at the other side it must be extremely draining to fight cancer while being broke and worrying about bills.

Having had a health scare in the past, it was incredibly comforting to know that my savings could tide me over for the rest of my life at my current lifestyle.

I can't imagine anything as frightening as suddenly losing your income in your 20s or 30s especially with a young family.this

having to take only the cut-rate doctors and not having a choice in where/when/how you get treated. Getting kicked out of the hospital early when you need more time to recover. Not having at-home care. etc.
