Boxing/mma is a truly rtarded "sport"

basically a "sport" on who can give/get the most brain damage.
CTE is a real consequence.

chuck liddel 2003 PRE brain damage interview:
(chuck liddel has a bachelors degree btw)

chuck liddell 2024 POST brain damage interview:

many cases like this.
if anyone is unaware, chuck liddell was the GOAT of mid 2000s lightheavy UFC

Yep and ironically mma is designed for amplifying the brief interaction where the most potential CTE blows occur.

Get rid of rounds, get rid of the huge advantage for explosive/strong people and make it a boring roll around on the floor for the last 40 minutes. And you allow more defensive fighters to gain a huge advantage, and all the explosive fighters that put on a good show but gas every minute will start to get worked on.

But no one will watch it and now one even gives a fuk about what a real fight looks like. They just want stand ups and rounds.

Isn't Liddell a druggie?

I don't completely disagree though. Martial arts are a great hobby and an art to practice, but...repeated head trauma obviously isn't good.

Poor Liddell. He probably has to hire a guy to tell him where he parked his car and how to get home.

a "REAL FIGHT" is like the movie BRAVEHEART where one is actually fighting for something that really matters and in such a scenario, rolling around on the ground for 40 minutes until one person says "uncle" pretty much never happens. It is an experience where one is willing to give his life and "tapping out" is not an option. Any other "fight" is stupidity and not worth the headache of jail/court/cost and/or CTE

amateur boxing champion, school wrestling team, judo, bjj, etc. OP is not wrong. It's still dumb. Good to know self-defense....maybe test oneself a time or two in competition for the experience and wisdom gained....but doing it to the point of brain damage is LOWrent BRAINcel

Imagine being a man and advocating NOT knowing how to fight, can't imagine how low test these guys are.

Every man in his prime should test his ability at physical combat

Floyd mayweather made $750 million from 3 fights, yeah he's a cash cow and most boxers don't get that much but no risk no reward

I'd rather be a respected boxer that went out from brain damage than a wagie that nobody knows

using an exceptional outlier miracle(Floyd Mayweather) to represent the potential for the average sounds like the MATH of someone who got punched in the head too many times or failed sandbox

No a fight is a word with a definition.

You are trying to describe a life or death struggle which lands on the extreme end of violence and consequences of the wide spectrum of things that could count as “a fight”

So I’ll assume you don’t think lining up and mooning your opponents while they shoot arrows at your butt is the point you were making and instead were trying to make a point about motivation and consequences being the deciding factor and instead of referencing real examples you went with Hollywood fantasy but whatever.

But having the bar for parameters describing “a fight” be some ephemeral concept of motivation impossible to reach in a sport or entertainment setting, while completely ignoring all actual settings which define the scenarios to give adequate meaning to the term “fight” is just you being some dumb edgelord with little concept of words or their meanings.

I mean fighting sports have existed from since ancient Rome..

it most certainly is not for everyone. it is art, but you have to have some ruthlesness to you, to do it. if you don't you'll find it senseless, agreed.

yeah i watch boxing / mma and yeah its probably the majority of retired fighters that have speech issues and the rarity of those that dont.

and on all the boxing forums the people are in denial. you show them clips of guys sluring and they will just say oh no that is his souther drawl he always talk like that, its all bull**** they clearly have changed their speech and its probably a good 70 percent of the time.

no it was the general idea and you missed it. I simply used the BRAVEHEART example because people are familiar with the story. LOL a "real fight" = men rolling around on the ground for 40 minutes. That's what I responded to and your attempt to discredit me did not change my opinion

Sorry I’ll try to make the point as succinct as possible since apparently comprehension is non existent.

I’m talking rules of engagement in a sporting setting that minimizes the cte risk in comparison to current rules while simultaneously changing the type of engagement to a more “realistic” representation of what a fight would look like due to lack of interruptions.

This is boring many times because it does evolve into wrestling around without standing up, a lot.

You are talking limiting the definition of what a fight is to a specific subset of extreme fight for your life violence. That’s not what a fight is by any definition of the word, it’s simply a physical altercation.

You keep talking as if I’m actually playing along with how you want to see things, but you misunderstand the axis were even talking about and are off on an irrelevant tangent while trying to tie it in as if it proved you right.

Bro I’m 260, a 135 pound dude would literally break his hand if he punched me lol

I’m not a fighter tho that’s for manlet incels with anger issues

Cringe and delusional.

You have no idea how to defend a takedown, or avoid being submitted by an elite ufc grappler/wrestler regardless of weight.

A ufc bantamweight would fold you like a lawn chair. Everything else is just cope.

I’m so much bigger and stronger than a little manlet I’d literally pick them up and throw them

Regardless tho I’m never putting myself in a fighting situation like that because I’m not low IQ and not that insecure

Manlets and incels always go straight to fighting lol
