How long would you wait? [Application]

I submitted an application for admission to a Masters program about 1.5 months ago and haven't heard anything back.

Term starts in 2 weeks and I need to get my employer tuition assistance lined up at least 1 week in advance, that's if everything goes perfectly.

I need to know pretty soon so I can get my ducks in a row, but I don't want to offend the admissions bureaucracy people by implying they're incompetent. I know from experience if you PO the wrong bureaucrat your job isn't getting done.

At what point would you start rattling cages? The online portal just says "awaiting decision".

if the term starts in two weeks then you should clear your status up this week, give them a call or assume the answer is no
