I actually agree with the norwegian prison system.

Basically, some brainiac in norway demonstrated that it costs less money for taxpayers if prisoners are locked away in better living conditions, made to work, and pay for their own food and items. They get out of the prison and can have a much better chance at staying out of the system.

Where as in America they throw someone in a prison for 10 years, let them rot and become traumatised, and then expect them to do what upon their release? Most often, they become even worse than when they entered.

I like China’s better, forced labor, living in squalor, loads of executions and organ harvesting.

Pretty sure that in China, opposing the current political regime is considered a crime - lmfao.

^^^ Chits nicer than my college dorm.

The Norwegian system emphasizes rehabilitation over punishment, and that works for the majority of prisoners anyway, since I would wager most prisoners are in there for drug and addiction issues. It's a smaller country than the US too, so would you want a neighbour who is possible an ex prisoner who is rehabilitated and normal, or someone traumatized and violent and psychopathic from being sent to a US style prison?

Norway even has this island setup which is not even a prison, it's got houses and stuff on it and it functions more like a "practice" society where you learn to participate as a normal member of society again.

Of course, the US will refuse to learn from any other country since they think they're the best at everything, when the overstuffed prisons and losing war on drugs shows they aren't.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

US prison system is big business. Anyone proposing a model that would reduce reoffending rate may find themself “disappeared…”

Norway has smart normal people who live in high living conditions. They don't HAVE slums and ghettos and dumbass people (well they didn't until 15 years ago)

That system does not work on low-IQ 3rd worlders.

Norway didn't have an issue with this before, so the system "worked".

Like lets say for punishment, you take away a 13 year old's Xbox for a month. That punishment works GREAT for teenagers, but 90 year olds don't give a chit.

Likewise you cannot punish a teenagers by taking away all their books and writing paper as punishment, but that WOULD work on a 90 year old..... ETC

Would never ever work here, or in south america. Gotta use different strategies for different types of people.

You offer something like that in the US and you will have people deliberately committing crimes to be in that type of prison.

^ I know that's right. Homeless people would be all over that. Too bad we dont have a program like that for homeless people without having to commit a crime.

Unfortunately the ******** issue is bad enough at this point in time you will find zero interest or motivation from the homeless people to even get themselves locked up.

They are literal zombies with no idea of what’s even going on anymore. I thought meth was bad man, but these people have lost their consciousness.

Whats the average IQ of the average native born Norwegian person?

Cool now do the same for former slaves and other third worlders that come to America, or the abos in Australia

Just like in America where the liberals weaponize the justice system or IRS against republicans

Norway has a population of like 5 million people, and they're also lacking a certain demographic.

You have to also factor in the main component of who the prisoners are.

There is a little bit different prison population in Norway than there is here.
