I actually liked renting and didn’t mind at all. Home ownership has been kind of a headache especially when I bought a fixer upper.

Idk why misc is so obsessed with home ownership.

Mortgage is $1236 a month. MORTGAGE. We send $400 a month. 3077 sq feet. I pay less in mortgage than most people pay in rent. Now, it's Mississippi so don't be hatin'. My house is nice.

$3500 rent is insane if a long time ago. I'm waiting to hear back from insurance about whether they'll cover an issue. Had to get a new water heater a few weeks ago. Hard rain a few days had water coming through the top of a bedroom window and I'm going to put silicone caulk on the outside of the window to delay what is likely a costly fix. I'm thinking we should have searched for a newer house, but the location is exactly where we wanted and there weren't a lot of issues until now. A few more years and it will be time to move. Unfortunately all of the new homes nearby are $1M+. A new development is going up a stone's throw away and the cheapest one is $1.5M, just a few hundred square feet larger than my home, so switching zip codes may be necessary. We'll see, worry for another day.

$1800 3bed/3 bath townhouse with 2 car garage.

Misc will hate, but there are RV rentals around me in the $700-800 range, everything included. When my lease is up, I'll probably move into one of those and if it'll be a good idea. After that, I'll buy my own and get a lot in an rv park for $500 rent.
