Muscle building genetics vs high testosterone genetics

Q: What is the difference between good muscle building genetics and high testosterone genetics?

Context: I had a friend say I have good muscle building genetics, yet he seems to think he has higher testosterone than me.
He thinks his workouts are pure science based, yet his results leave a lot to be desired. He's reasoned it is because his muscle building genetics are bad. I personally believe his test levels are low (he used to have literal man boobs but not anymore).

higher testosterone = the ability to carry more muscle mass

i'd argue that they're one in the same

Pretty much this. Does your friend mean genetics in general? Because that would make more sense. Sometimes you can have high testosterone and be naturally leaner without carrying tons of muscle mass, but he'd looked ripped and still look strong.

All he said was I have good muscle building genetics, but he was offended when I said it might be a difference in test levels.
I believe he was arguing I won the genetic lottery, while he has to work extra hard to make gains.
He probably felt my 'test levels' comment was some kind of attack on his man hood, when it was not meant to be.

High test will equal more muscle and less body fat. But it does not mean good muscle insertions and good bone structure.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

That's true, thanks. Though I dont believe he was referring to muscle insertions or bone structure seeing as I have small frame.

Yea well it could be low test by him, otherwise it's probably his training methodology. Most guys just don't know how to train which is why they barely make progress. Those are usually two of the bigger reasons why someone can't gain muscle.

Smaller frame is better, looks bigger with less work.
