Ever eat a Big Mike banana?

Any agriculture brahs aware of the great banana eradication? The story goes in the 1950s a parasite began to kill off the most widely consumed species of banana known as Gros Michel or "Big Mike" and now we eat vastly inferior Cavendish bananas. Apparently the OG version was richer, sweeter and tasted like banana flavored candy. Today it's rare to find and only grows in Southeast Asia.

I found a website that ships them but it's $30 PER BANANA. Fuarrrrk. I want to know the taste tho. Anyone ever eat these things?

Pretty interesting. They haven’t been grown commercially during most of our lifetimes but our grandparents would’ve eaten them. This brah grows them and says the flavor doesn’t even compare that they literally taste like candy.
