And then he drove it into a basement, got stuck, and offed himself like a pussy coward

What a hero

Except every one of his enemies lives on to laugh at his lunacy

Heemeyer might've died but he had the last laugh knowing that now the town's reputation will forever be "town that drove a guy so mad he decided to build a tank and raze it to the ground"

Based on many comments he sounded like a great guy who was pushed to his limit, he went out with a bang and I respect it. srs

On one hand, what he did was not acceptable.

On the other hand, you have to admire his commitment. Most people would have given up long ago. He labored for years to build that thing.

You guys think a .50 cal Barrett to the treads could have done the trick?

Indeed. Quite impressive machine he put together. Apparently took them 12 hours with an oxy acetylene torch to finally get into it.

They did try with a .50 cal tho not sure at the treads but they tried so much to the point of calling in a fkn Apache helicopter. Just lmfao

From notes left behind after his passing:
"I was always willing to be reasonable until I had to be unreasonable. Sometimes reasonable men must do unreasonable things."

Those aren't treads that's steel track baby a bullet ain't gonna do **** to them. Gotta hit them finals to do anything.

I'm surprised that komatsu dozer held up so long. Ran a few brand new ones about 10 years ago that would over heat after about 10 minutes of work and need to sit to cool off.

Lazy reporting too, that "loader" was a scraper, looked like a 657. He wasn't stuck or attempting to flee, he was waiting to be "hit", or rather pushed by the dozer. The scraper operator had plenty of time to think about burying his can in the dirt before he hit the asphalt to attempt to stop the dozer, dozers can only push so much. One of the reasons the dozer only clips the buildings is cause he'd be stopped trying to push too much. Dozers move slow and only have 3 gears, the 3rd gear is to catch scrapers, but it's still slow, hence the scraper operator having plenty of time to think. That scraper is designed to push and pull with other scrapers. The scraper positioned himself to slow down the dozer without being hurt, but didn't bury his can anywhere to try to help stop the dozer. Notice the asphalt being torn up after contact? Bet they were trying to minimize damage by not dropping the can, but putting a scraper in front of a dozer with the scraper bowl in the air is pointless. Those things are meant to be pushed by dozers or other scrapers.
